  If you want a good apartment in the campus area of champaign, there are two options: JSM and Bankier. I went with Bankier because of the better price options, better location, and recommendations from friends. I have not been dissapointed at all! I lived at 406 e green this year, which is located right behind the bankier office, which means that I see the staff a lot more than most residents probably do. Everyone who works there is quick to give a smile and a wave, and always remembers my name, which is a personal touch I don't think you can get anywhere else. I had some trouble this year in which my apartment was leased before I was able to renew it, which was completely my fault since I waited way too long to decide I wanted to stay in my apartment. The people at Bankier were super understanding and sympathetic, and in my opinion went above and beyond trying to work out where I will live next year. I ended up signing a lease at another apartment close by, and couldn't be happier with my service. If you're trying to decide between JSM and Bankier, I can tell you that Bankier actually seems to care about you, and will go the extra mile to make sure you're happy with your apartment.

  I have lived in Bankier's apartments for the past two years and have had a great experience in specifically the 1107 S Second St. apartments (Roundbalconies). The maintenance on campus is fantastic. Any time I sent in a maintenance request, I was serviced within two business days at the latest. The apartment was fully furnished (~40 in wide screen T.V, brand new couches, beds, and kitchen table). The staff that works in the main building are all very accommodating to your needs and I have worked with them on numerous occasions. Unfortunately I am moving out but the Roundbalcony apartments are all being refurnished and are a steal. The price, location, and value for your dollar is top class here. Only setback is that electricity bill can be a bit steep in the winter (due to heating) but the price you pay for rent offsets that. As well, almost all apartments on campus have this issue regardless. Best deal on campus that not many have heard about. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

  Bankier Apartments has a wonderful, friendly staff! They are always so quick to answer phone calls and fix any issues their tenants have. Amy and Alicia both are so helpful! I definitely recommend Bankier as a leasing company.
